Abstract:   (2497 Views)
This study aimed to achieve the relationship between sediment composition and macrobenthic communities and distribution in Hormozgan coastal waters. Sampling was carried out monthly in 2011-12 by a powerboat, and VanVeen grab with 0.04 cross-section was used for sampling from sediment. Sampling areas were Bandar Abbas, Jask, and Lengeh coastal waters in Hormozgan Province. Results showed that Silt was dominant in the sediment of Bandarabbas and Sand was dominant in Lengeh and Jask sediments in coastal waters. Data Analysis indicated that there was a significant relationship between macrobenthos communities and silt (P<0.01) and sand (P<0.05). In addition, there was no relationship between macrobenthos communities and organic materials.
