هدف از این پژوهش بررسی وضعیت اکولوژیکی سواحل جنوبی دریای خزر (شهرستان نور) با استفاده از شاخص‌های AMBI و BENTIX بود. نمونه­برداری از بی­مهرگان در شش ایستگاه و در دهانه رودخانه­های گلندرود و تمیشان صورت گرفت. ایستگاه­ها به ترتیب شامل ایستگاه­های نزدیک به ساحل، میانی و دور از ساحل بودند که به فواصل 500 متر، 1000 متر و 1500 متر از خط ساحلی انتخاب شدند. نمونه­برداری از بی­مهرگان به کمک گرب ون وین و با سه تکرار در هر ایستگاه انجام گرفته است. در پژوهش حاضر، شاخه Mollusca، رده Bivalvia، راسته Cardiida و خانواده Cardiidae به ترتیب با 82، 65، 44 و 41 درصد دارای بیشترین فراوانی بودند. همچنین دوکفه­ای ها از نظر تنوع و تراکم در رتبه اول قرار داشته و در اکثر ایستگاه­ها مشاهده شدند. نتایج ارزیابی بوم­شناختی مناطق نمونه­برداری نشان داد که براساس شاخص AMBI رودخانه گلندرود در وضعیت کمی آشفته و رودخانه تمیشان در وضعیت کمی آشفته تا آشفتگی متوسط قرار دارند. همچنین براساس شاخص BENTIX رودخانه گلندرود در وضعیت آشفتگی متوسط تا کمی آشفته و رودخانه تمیشان در وضعیت آشفته قرار داشتند. نتایج نشان داد که در مقایسه دو رودخانه، رودخانه تمیشان دارای آلودگی بیشتری نسبت به رودخانه گلندرود می­باشد که یکی از علت های اصلی غالب شدن تعداد زیاد گونه های مقاوم و فرصت طلب در امتداد ان رودخانه است.
