هدف از مطالعه حاضر، بررسی توزیع فراوانی و ساختار طولی ماهیان یال¬اسبی سر¬بزرگ صید شده توسط سه قلاب با شماره¬های 6، 7 و 8 در آبهای ساحلی کنارک بوده است. در بازه زمانی اوایل پاییز 1401 تا اواخر بهار 1402، از سه قلاب 8، 7 و 6 به ترتیب 645، 1027 و 430 قطعه ماهی یال¬اسبی سر¬بزرگ به صورت ماهیانه زیست¬سنجی شد.. دامنه طولی ماهیان یال¬اسبی سر¬بزرگ صید شده برای این سه قلاب به ترتیب 124-60 (با میانگین 0.46 ± 85.66)، 127-53 (با میانگین 0.33 ± 80.3) و 121-54 (با میانگین0.45 ± 81.4) سانتی¬متر بدست آمد. نتایج نشان داد که میانگین طولی ماهیان صید شده با قلاب 6 بطور معنی داری بیشتر از میانگین طولی ماهیان صید شده با دو قلاب دیگر بود. توزیع فراوانی طولی ماهیان صید شده با سه قلاب همپوشانی بالایی داشتند. این همپوشانی بالا حاکی از آن است که صید ماهیان کمتر از سایز استاندارد با قلاب¬های بزرگتر حذف نخواهد شد. آزمون کلموگروف-اسمیرنوف نشان داد که توزیع طولی ماهیان صید شده با قلاب‌های 7 و 8 تفاوت معنی¬داری ندارد، اما با قلاب 6 تفاوت معنی¬داری مشاهده شد. بر اساس شاخص طول بلوغ جنسی، درصد فراوانی ماهیان غیراستاندارد صید شده با سه قلاب 6، 7 و 8 به ترتیب برابر با 5.6، 0.18 و 18.2 درصد بود. استفاده از قلاب بویژه قلاب شماره ۶، به دلیل انتخاب‌پذیری بهتر و کاهش صید ماهیان نابالغ، می‌تواند به مدیریت صید پایدار این گونه ارزشمند اقتصادی کمک کند. نتایج این مطالعه می‌تواند به عنوان اطلاعات پایه‌ای به منظور تدوین توصیه‌های مدیریتی در جهت کاهش صید ماهیان کوچک و غیراستاندارد و حفظ ذخایر ماهی یال¬اسبی سر¬بزرگ در خلیج فارس و دریای عمان مورد استفاده قرار گیرد.
