جوامع پلانکتون گیاهی و روند تغییرات آنها و شرایط کیفی اکوسیستم های آبی همواره در معرض نوسانات قرار دارد. پلانکتون¬های گیاهی از شاخص های بیولوژیک با ارزش می باشندکه با بررسی آنها می توان کیفیت آب را مشخص نمود. شناخت جوامع پلانکتونی و تغییرات آنها در تعیین وضعیت آینده یک اکوسیستم آبی از نقش و اهمیت ویژه ای برخوردار است. این تحقیق در محدوده غربی و شرقی آب های خلیج جاسک طی فصل تابستان و زمستان در سال 1402به عمل آمد. نمونه برداری با بطری روتنر از نیم متری زیر سطح آب صورت گرفت. نمونه ها با لوگل تثبیت و با درج مشخصات به آزمایشگاه منتقل گردید. در طی مدت بررسی 41 گونه پلانکتون گیاهی شناسایی شد که شامل 25 گونه باسیلاریو فیسه، 15 گونه دینوفیسه و یک گونه سیانوفیسه بود. 23 گونه دیاتومه در حوضه غربی و 11 گونه در حوضه شرقی مشاهده شد بطوریکه نه گونه دیاتومه در هر دو منطقه مشترک بودند. از 15 گونه دینوفیسه 14 گونه در قسمت غربی و 7 گونه در قسمت شرقی و 6 گونه بطور مشترک در هر دو قسمت دیده شد. سیانوفیسه ها با یک گونه در هر دو منطقه حضور داشتند. قسمت غربی از تنوع بالاتری نسبت به قسمت شرقی برخوردار بود. درصد فراوانی کل پلانکتون گیاهی در منطقه غرب حاکی از درصد حضور 84.39 و در حوضه شرقی 15.61 درصد بود. با توجه به توسعه جاسک واقع در دریای مکران، داشتن اطلاعات از وضعیت این پهنه آبی و از جمله پلانکتون ها و بخصوص فیتوپلانکتون بسیار ضروری می باشد. بدین منظور بررسی ساختار پلانکتون گیاهی درخلیج جاسک صورت گرفت. استقرار سازه مصنوعی در خلیج جاسک از جمله برنامه های در دست اجرا می باشد که با داشتن اطلاعات قبل از استقرار سازه به خوبی اثرات سازه ها بعد از استقرار، قابل بررسی خواهد بود . نتایج این پژوهش مبنای طراحی برنامه های پایش بلند مدت و مدیریت بهینه منابع آبی و اکولوژیکی در منطقه می تواند قرار گیرد.
