استفاده از پری‌بیوتیک‌ها در آبزی‌پروری موجب بهبود عملکرد رشد، تقویت سیستم ایمنی، و افزایش مقاومت در برابر بیماری‌ها از طریق تعدیل میکروبیوتای روده می‌شود. این مطالعه در دو مرحله در ابتدا به منظور بررسی استفاده از پری‎بیوتیک پرودی 450 (حاوی مانان الیگوساکارید و بتاگلوکان) بر روی عملکرد رشد و مقدار کل زی‎توده در واحد سطح لارو شیرونومیده انجام شد. به این منظور، چهار سطح (تیمار) مختلف از پری‎بیوتیک شامل صفر (شاهد)، 250 (P250)، 500 (P500) و 750 (P750) میلی‎گرم تهیه شد و به یک کیلوگرم کود مرغی اضافه و سپس از این کود مرغی به عنوان بستر پرورش لارو شیرونومید در 3 تکرار استفاده شد. لاروها پس از ده روز پرورش در دمای 0.79 ± 25/71 درجه‎ سانتی گراد، صید شدند. در ادامه به مدت 14 روز به عنوان غذای تاسماهی سیبری انگشت قد (Acipenser baerii) با میانگین وزن اولیه 0.04 ± 1/14 گرم و با هدف بررسی تأثیر پری‎بیوتیک بر عملکرد رشد و برخی شاخص‌های ایمنی تاسماهی با همان تیمارها و در سه تکرار، استفاده شدند.  پس از اندازه‎گیری شاخص‌های  رشد در لاروهای شیرونومیده، مشخص شد که بیشترین وزن لارو را تیمار P250 دارا بود (0.5 ± 8/50  میلی گرم) همچنین بعد از آن تیمار P500 بهترین عملکرد رشد را دارا بود که با تیمار P250 اختلاف معنی دار نداشت ولی با تیمارهای P750 و شاهد دارای اختلاف معنی دار بود (0.05>p). در مقدار کل زیتوده در واحد سطح بین تیمارها، اختلاف معنی داری وجود نداشت (0.05<p). در انتهای پرورش تاسماهی سیبری، شاخص‌های رشد هیچ اختلاف معنی داری نشان نداد (0.05<p)؛ اما در اغلب شاخص‌ها تیمار P500 با اختلاف اندکی بالاتر بود. نتایج این تحقیق نشان داد که پری‎بیوتیک و دوز استفاده شده آن در این مطالعه نمی‌تواند باعث افزایش معنی داری در زیتوده لارو شیرونومید در واحد سطح شود اما می‌توان لاروهایی با وزن بیشتر تولید کند، همچنین نتایج نشان دهنده عدم تاثیر پذیری تاسماهی سیبری انگشت قد از لاروهای شیرونومید تغذیه شده از پری‎بیوتیک با این سطوح در دوره زمانی 14 روزه است.
