Zinc oxide nanoparticles can enter to body through breathing, skin and nourishment, and disrupt the physiology of the body. Ascorbic acid can act as a potent antioxidant to prevent the negative effects of nanoparticles. In this study, 170 individuals of rainbow trout with an average weight of 170 g were kept in 70 L tanks. Fish were exposed to concentrations of 40 and 80 mg.L
-1 Nano-zinc oxide, and 400 and 800 mg.kg
-1 vitamin C. After 10 days of exposure to 80 mg.L
-1 Nano-zinc oxide and 800 mg.kg
-1 vitamin C the liver enzyme activity was significantly lower than other treatments. Oral administration of vitamin C can improve the enzymatic parameters and reduce the harmful effects of zinc oxide nanoparticles on hepatic enzyme activity.
