This study was conducted to examine the relationship between chlorophyll-a and water physicochemical parameters in two stations of Caspian Sea (Nowshahr and Tonekabon), in 2014 (from April to June). The results of this study showed a significant correlation between chlorophyll-a and nitrate concentration in Nowshahr (r=0.809). Furthermore, nitrate and phosphate concentrations were higher than those recorded in previous years, indicating an increase in amount of these nutrients in the Caspian Sea. Regular monitoring of these parameters must be carried out in order to understand the trend of their fluctuations.
